Consulting Services for the Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health Industry

As a seasoned executive in the treatment industry, Curt offers his services to treatment centers as a consultant. Providing an array of products, form-fitted to the needs of any center, Curt helps centers be more effective, streamlined, and increase outcomes. Clients who desire a fresh set of eyes, coupled with years of executive experience with a proven track record hire Curt to spend a few weeks in their center, observing, interviewing, analyzing, reporting his findings and making recommendations. The following areas are of concentration:

  • Admissions and Marketing
  • Clinical Systems
  • Medical System
  • Operational Systems
  • Communication Outside the Facility
  • Licensing and Regulatory Compliance
  • Insurance Acceptance and Compliance
  • Retention – Clients and Employees
  • Leadership Structure and Effectiveness
  • Assessment and Placement of Talent
  • Inter-departmental Synergy and Cohesion
  • Aftercare Systems
  • Community Involvement and Reputation
  • Finance
  • Customer Service
  • Outcomes

Curt’s services are driven by the core belief that addiction is by its very nature an extremely difficult condition to treat effectively, and the systems that treat it well are free of cracks and pockets for addiction to escape or reside. When the center is operating at peak efficiency, goals of surrounding this insidious disease are met and addiction starts the long process of dying. Conversely, patients treated in loose systems too often do not achieve the internalization of recovery sufficient to become self-sustaining through the daily disciplines of the sober design for living. No amount of any one or two of the elements of recovery will sustain the process – all aspects must be operative.

With this in mind, Curt’s services help centers see what they may be too close to see themselves. Like recovery, one must continuously take inventory, increase the valuable and dispose of the valueless. This a favorite area of his work, as Curt loves being a part of something really good, something that winds up helping others.

Strongly Recommend

Curt is one of the most well-rounded and knowledgable executives I know in the addiction treatment field. Over his career he has held important roles in virtually all domains of behavioral healthcare management. His rich professional diversity contributes to Curt’s rare ability to meet those he supervises where they are at, understand complex organizational challenges from all angles and credibly lead a team towards real solutions that serve all stakeholders. His leadership style is firm yet compassionate, and his authentic heart for those wonderful individuals and families he serves is written on all that he does – a special heart without which, we cannot effectively arrest the illnesses he has dedicated his life to treating. Curt is the consummate addiction executive and I strongly recommend working with him any chance you get, especially when lives and outcomes are on the line.

A Word About Certified Intervention Professional (CIP)

In the United States, there is no actual licensing for people performing interventions. However, there are several ways families can perform due diligence when selecting an interventionist.

Researching the background and qualifications of the interventionist is important. Knowing they have the experience needed, both from a standpoint of actual intervention experience as well as other experience which bears upon their ability to select the right treatment center for your loved one, as well as being able to handle a variety of types of problems facing your loved one and your family is also important.

One of the best ways to confirm these items is achievement of the Certified Intervention Professional (CIP) credential issued by the PA Certification Board. The CIP credential replaced the Board Registered Interventionist (BRI) credential several years ago.

The PA Certification Board requires that intervention candidates for credentialing demonstrate verified qualifications, education, and experience to achieve the CIP credential. Also, CIP’s must obtain Continuing Education Units (CEUs) every two year period in order to renew their CIP.

More information about this may be found at PA Certification Board
